Shakespeare and Puppets in Prague

In a country of more than two-century-long tradition of puppetry and homeland of internationally renowned Jiří Trnka and Jan Švankmajer, Collegium Hieronymi Pragensis organizes in cooperation with Prague based Japanese puppeteer Nori Sawa and Linda Gates from the Northwestern University Theater Department an intensive puppetry summer program.
The program is ideal for performers, designers, directors, stage managers, puppeteers and lovers of puppetry.

The program consists of two components – an intensive workshop in performing Shakespeare with puppets and a course on Czech puppetry, animated film, and their visual art context.

The summer program will be concluded by a public performance. The performance is planned to take place on Lod Tajemstvi [Boat of Secrets] operated by Forman brothers, theater performers, authors, and directors, and twin sons of the famous Oscar director Miloš Forman.
