Media studies and Filmmaking component
Starting Spring 2012, CHP introduces a Media studies component into its curriculum. Its core is constituted with two new courses:
Two new courses, two new CHP faculty members, namely a leading and internationally renowned media studies specialist Professor Jan Jirák and an award winning filmmaker Libuše Rudinská.
A student interested in media studies can either focus on film issues and combine the filmmaking course with Czech film history course which has been a very successful part of the CHP curriculum (Modern Czech Film: History on Screen), or prefer issues of mass media and enroll the Media, Society, Culture course together with, for instance, Emblematic Reductions: Icons of American and Czech Popular Culture, a course highly praised by CHP students so far.
It would be a pity to miss this opportunity.
