Digital Video Production and Introduction to Film Making
The course is devoted to video production techniques and provides introduction to filmmaking. The building stone of the course is a theory of every element that constructs the film. The brief theoretical intro that includes both European point of view and American style of thinking in connection with the basics of practical introduction will help students to get oriented in contemporary field of making film while using the easy affordable equipment.
At the same time students will gain some knowledge of the visual style and its mentality of the post-socialist countries. Upon completing the course, students will understand the essential connections between the elements of filmmaking such as: audio, video, music, and editing. They will also be able to create and export audiovisual clips with basic editing.
Students are required to attend classes in theory, read the required materials, and participate actively in discussions. They are also required to attend the practical section of the course, become familiar with the basics of filming and editing during their time off and prepare project assignments (five projects/films from one to ten minutes in length).
